"Hello, my name is Alicia. I am 34 years old, I am from Canyamars in Barcelona and I am deaf. On the 30th of January 2011, I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloblastic Leukaemia. It was a huge blow, and on top of that, my father died from cancer on the 21st of April last year. I was really close to him and because he was hospitalized I was only able to see him the day before he died, which was very hard. But, at least I could be with him in his last moments.

I have two children aged 10 and 9 respectively. The youngest suffered from Burkitt's Lymphoma but he is now in complete remission and has been for 5 years, making us very content.
In June, I will undergo an autologous transplant and I know that it is all going to be ok. My plans are to fight against this disease because I want to see my children grow up and continue enjoying the company of my crazy lovable dog and also I want to enjoy life in general.

To anyone who is in a difficult situation I urge you to keep going! Be strong and stay positive! Warm regards!
