Message from Anna Striolo, 45-year-old Acute Myeloid Leukaemia patient, from Reus (Tarragona), which stayed at one of the flats of the José Carreras Foundation.
Transcript of the message:
"My name in Anna Striolo, I am italian but live in Reus since many years ago. In 2010 they diagnosed myeloid leukaemia. The news surprised me a lot and made me understand the importance of having people next to me who have helped me a lot: the doctors, my family, the José Carreras Foundation, who have helped me so much with this flat and the bone marrow transplant. The transplant went perfectly despite some complications during the first months. Everything is going well and little by little I am getting better. I want to thank the people I have had the honour of meeting through this experience. I am very happy to have met all of those people who have been by my side and have given me courage to keep going although everything seemed black. I have had the luck of having my sister close. You need strength and courage! I leave my testimony so that other people feel good and safe surrounded by so many people who want to help. Thanks for everything".
