Concept and presentation
The Foundation's campaigns represent a chance to channel people's feelings towards the fight against leukaemia and raise awareness in society of the importance of getting involved. They seek to promote the active participation and the growth of a supportive movement that allows people to work together in raising awareness.
Campaigns that have been completed at present:
CURRENT CAMPAIGN 2011 "Help us to make sure that people are where they should be"
The José Carreras Foundation against Leukaemia wants LEUKAEMIA PATIENTS TO BE WHERE THEY SHOULD BE: at home, with their family, at school, playing in the park... and not in hospital. We continue to invest in scientific research in the hope that one day, leukaemia will be 100% curable disease. In February 2011, the "we want people to be where they should be" campaign will be presented at the Niño Jesus Hospital in Madrid. The campaign launch will include a visit by José Carreras and the actors, Mario Casas and María Castro to children who are in the hospital suffering from leukaemia.
At www.curalaleucemia.com you will also find the materials to distribute for the campaign (press release, TV advert, radio advert, banner, and widget for the facebook pages and the blogs). Please use them and distribute them to raise awareness of the campaign!!
2010 "Cuéntanos tu plan"
The Santa Creu i Sant Pau Hospital in Barcelona held an exhibition showcasing leukaemia patients' plans symbolized by ribbons. Each ribbon represented more support so that patients can carry out their dreams. This event initiated the anual awareness campaign presented to the press by Josep Carreras with the support of FC Barcelona player, Rafa Márquez, and one of the team's technical staff, Txiki Begiristain.
