Path to the cure
I am María Revuelta Rojas and on the 12th of March I celebrated my 32nd birthday. My birthday came only three days after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) whilst 22 weeks pregnant. I give thanks for having reached that birthday.
Today (Thursday 5th May) I finished my second cycle of chemotherapy, my baby "EVA" has proven to be a strong and brave girl at only 30 weeks and a weight of 1.5Kg. On Monday, I am set to undergo a cesarean and I will let you know how it goes.
My goal each day is to stay on the road to recovery, and climb the rungs of the ladder...trying to stay positive, whilst smiling and laughing every day, even just for a little while.
THANK YOU to everyone who has helped me on this journey, and an extra nod to all those who have been outstanding, you know who you are: my family, friends, colleagues, obviously doctors, nurses and all the hospital personnel, and especially my four shadows; Manuel, Mum, Dad and Silvia. I also need to thank my little girl, EVA, who has been through it all with me and has "tolerated" everything...I send all of you a big kiss and lots of positive thoughts. Between us all we are making the road to recovery a possibility.
NOW I CAN SAY THAT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN LIFE IS LOVE, OF ALL KINDS, BUT WITHOUT A DOUBT IT IS LOVE.
The NEXT GOAL is to have Eva (with a little help) and start the third cycle, whilst always looking ahead.
Thank you to the Foundation and everyone that forms a part of it, in the near future I will fill you in on the latest goals.
