What does it mean for you to work as part of the fight against leukaemia? We asked this question to those who form part of our Foundation and we wanted to share some of the replies with you.

"Following my recovery, the gestures of strength and affection I received inspired me to give something back to science and society. And so I created this Foundation for the Fight against leukaemia."

José Carreras, President

"You will always hear me say the same thing: ‘I've found the job of my life'. It's 100% complete. Although I work in an administrative role, the act of knowing there are people behind me gives me a lot of motivation and adds extra value to my work."

Núria Marieges, Head of searches for Spanish patients.

"I'm involved with housing families that have moved to the Foundation's apartments. To be able to help patients and their families at a difficult time of their life is a very gratifying job for which their complete recovery is the best reward."

Esther Soto, Responsible for the apartments for patients and families with limited financial resources.

"In my role, my contact with leukaemia is not so "hands on", but it's true that to this very day, when I receive a ‘fat' invoice for a cord or bone marrow transplant, it always makes me happy to think that it's becoming possible to treat the illness, above all in cases of children who, if all goes well, will soon be able to be at home again, enjoying the small pleasures we find from day to day."

Carolina Salillas, Head of accounting.

"It's extremely gratifying to work for an objective as important as saving people's lives. Even though things don't always end well, in many cases they do, and in each of them, you have contributed your grain of sand to the most important and valuable of things: life."

Cristina Bueno, Head of Donors.

These are the replies of some of the 24 people who form part of the Foundation's team. We are lucky to have a job that is satisfying, that we enjoy, and, most importantly of all, in which we believe.

If you have a question about the Foundation and the areas in which it works, just look for the profile of the person you wish to approach in this section and send them an email.
