Rodrigo overcame leukaemia, and now, aged 3, wants to be a bullfighter
In March 2005, our Foundation received a very special letter from Carmen who was writing to us to share her joy. REDMO, the Foundation's bone marrow donor register, had found a compatible donor for her son, Rodrigo, and he was about to receive a bone marrow transplant. After months battling the illness, Rodrigo finally had HIS chance. This was a long-awaited moment because, besides the donor search carried out by REDMO, Rodrigo's family had started their own campaign to find a compatible bone marrow for him.
On the 14th March 2006, Rodrigo underwent a bone marrow transplant, provided by a Danish donor.
Rodrigo's family explained their story to the newspaper "La Gaceta de los Negocios". At 3 years old, he is currently doing very well, and harbours the dream to be a bullfighter.
