Paciente Ruben 1

Rubén, 28, suffers from Hodgkin's lymphoma─ a kind of lymphatic cancer.

In February 2008 he had a bone marrow transplant. As none of his relatives was compatible with him, the José Carreras Leukaemia Foundation ultimately found a suitable donor in Germany.

Rubén's story is quite a long one. His lymphoma appeared 8 years ago and, after his chemotherapy treatment, it seemed to be disappearing. In 2007 Rubén had to face reality─ his lymphoma was back.

Today, after coping with the experience, Rubén wants to continue doing what makes him happy ─ tennis. Although he won't be able to pursue a professional career in that field he still wants to be linked to it.
