Welcome
Dear Friends,
In 1988, when I recovered from leukaemia, I had one dream: to help the people who are in the same situation as I was, to have more opportunities.
On behalf of all those who are a part of this organisation, I want to express my upmost gratitude to all the people who support us both financially and by other means, such as donating bone marrow or umbilical cord blood. With each research project, each small charitable contribution, and each cured patient we are expanding the opportunities for those who, sadly, suffer and will suffer through this terrible ordeal.
When I was ill, I thought that if I had one chance in a million to get better, then I was going to take that chance. For all the children and adults that have lived or are living with leukaemia, we have to keep fighting in order that some day, it will be a 100% curable disease.
A big thanks to all of you who collaborate with us and, above all thank you to more than 93,000 Spaniards who altruistically donate their bone marrow. They are donors of life.
I welcome with great enthusiasm the fact that we are increasing our membership all the time and I would encourage you all to participate in this fight. With only a small gesture, we can help to save many lives.
With warmest regards,
José Carreras
