In 2009, the young actor and son of the well known journalist with the same name accompanied José Carreras, together with other young actors in a visit to the leukaemia patients at the Children´s ward of the Gregorio Marañon Hospital in Madrid. Carles visited and cheered up the children and was especially fond of Chima, a 4 year old patient whose dream is "to be happy and sporty". Lots of the children know Carles due to his role as a Doctor in the television series Hospital Central.
