On September 10th 2008, Joaquín got a call from the José Carreras Foundation. They informed him that the analytic he had taken 11 years ago, when he registered in the Bone Marrow Donors Registry, showed high compatiblity with that of a patient in need of a transplant. That moment is when his story begins, a story that was published in an article of the Spanish newspaper El Mundo, a few months later.
