Monica

"Hi, my name is Monica and I am 21 years old. On December 23rd 2011, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. It was horrible news for me and my family and friends but I am truly gratefully for everything they have done for me. With strength and encouragement everything went fine and thanks to the help of my family I have dealt with it better than I thought I would.

Today, after two months, I am continuing to undergo chemotherapy but, for what I have been told, everything is going very well.

My future plans are: firstly, as soon as everything ends, to celebrate my birthday, which is on father's day and I will not be able to celebrate it. I also want to go to Gran Canaria with my friends and, the most important, I want to live life day by day and second by second but, of course, surrounded by the people who love me. That is what is most important.

I want to send my warmest regards to all of those people suffering from this disease and tell them that with strength we can beat anything."
