This was Vera Ademà’s last week working with the myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) team at the lab in our Institute’s ICO Campus. Will she be back? Of course she will! But for now, she is spending three months in Cleveland (in the United States) for a stay at the Translational Haematology and Oncology Research Department at the Taussing Cancer Institute in the Cleveland Clinic to focus on studying myelodysplastic syndromes in depth, where malfunctions in the bone marrow and malignant myeloid anomalies are found. We did an interview with her about what myelodysplastic syndromes are, what her team’s research is focused on and what projects await her at the American labs… You can read it on our website. Have a good trip Vera! We wait for your return with many new goals and challenges to continue to be UNSTOPPABLE against myelodysplastic syndromes +info

Next December, the 57th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) will take place in Orlando (Florida). Because of his broad experience, they have invited Dr Francesc Solé to review the projects on myelodysplastic syndromes, one of his areas of expertise. Cooperation with international experts is a vital component to create a high quality scientific conference. All these experiences are useful for us to keep on advancing day after day in the research of malignant blood diseases, so we continue to be UNSTOPPABLE. Congratulations Kiku!

On April 22nd, Allianz presented their new project Laps for Life 93 through MotoGP’s world champion, Marc Marquez. This initiative aims to promote responsible attitudes and encourage social commitment among young adults to contribute to a better society. At Josep Carreras Leukaemia Foundation we are happy to once again have the support of our friends from Allianz, who announced that the first of these projects beginning this May will seek to support our Foundation so that all of us can move unstoppably forward against leukemia! So that anyone may collaborate, social media users will be asked to promote the project with the hashtag # lapsforlife93. Once we reach a certain number of likes or tweets with this hashtag, a virtual lap will be completed at the Laps for Life 93 circuit and Allianz will make a donation to our Foundation. To encourage you to participate we are sharing the project’s web page:
