The Mexican FC Barcelona footballer promoted the plans of leukaemia patients during the 2010 awareness event in the Sant Pau Hospital in Barcelona. Rafa accompanied José Carreras to visit children in the paediatric ward of the hospital and the isolated ward for children in need of a transplant.
